LCT hosting EDUCAUSE 2010 streams at Wills House

EDUCAUSE 2010 is the premier meeting for IT professionals in higher education.  The topics of this year's event explores key issues impacting our institutions today, from dealing with reduced IT budgets and understanding emerging technologies to the role that IT can play in developing collaborative, transformative learning environments.  Libraries, Computing and Technology has arranged for a local event at Wills House on the MSU campus that allows us to participate in this virtual conference.

Faculty, staff recognized for use of instructional technology

The MSU News Bulletin published a story last week recognizing the six outstanding online and blended courses from Michigan State University were selected as recipients of this year's AT&T Faculty-Staff Awards in Instructional Technology for 2010.

The increasing demand for recorded lectures and course content for online and blended courses presents a unique challenge for academic institutions to manage rising online content expectations and the cost of producing such material.  While this challenge is not unique to Michigan State University, the department of Learning Design and Technology has developed a new pilot project to meet the demand for easily and cost effectively produce and capture course lectures and content.
