A course enhancement is an object or activity which helps communicate course content beyond text and lecture. It engages the learner by presenting content in a more meaningful, memorable and stimulating way. Your learning objectives will guide the choice of media types and technology to apply. Before you choose to use video clips, for example, ask yourself whether motion or time-based sequencing are essential elements of the point you are teaching. If not, then video is perhaps not your best option. Your students will benefit more from the most suitable media types and technologies that speed learning and improve performance.
You may find many examples of the enhancements mentioned here in the LearnDAT Showcase.
